Featured Gallery Show for June: A show of mixed media pieces by Ned Albright Jr. a native of Rock Hill, SC. The work in the show is comprised of metal and found objects which create abstract tableaus from the contrast between industrial and natural elements. Although many of the pieces draw from the artist's personal narrative, the viewer is free to imbue them with their own meaning.

River of Words
March 8th - April 9th
In celebration of National Youth Art Month, ARTworks is featuring the River of Words, an annual, county-wide project in which teachers encourage students to link the study of ecology with art and poetry. The walls of the gallery will be filled with the students' creative efforts, all of which reflect their understanding and appreciation of our local watershed. Partial sponsorhip for this program is provided by the Port Royal Sound Foundation.

A public reception will be held on March 14th, from 5 to 7 p.m. At the reception, Beaufort County School District staff will unveil the annual publication which incorporates both the pieces that are on display, as well as students' work from all across Beaufort County.
